Personal Statement

My role at North Seattle is to make chemistry approachable and understandable; to bring in as many examples as possible from outside the classroom; and to help students leave the classroom comfortable with the language of chemistry and chemical calculations.

I've worked in the specialty chemicals field for a decade as well as in technology transfer (Georgia Tech's Advanced Technology Development Center and University of Washington's TechTransfer). 

In my free time I fantasize about being a better cyclocross racer, nordic ski racer, and having more free time. My students have seen a few YouTube video clips of me on a bike as I metaphorically connect this to the content.
