Personal Statement

A quality educator never sits back and accepts that there is no more room for growth and development. No matter how wonderful the program is, or how well trained the educator, there is always more that can be done. A quality educator constantly evaluates his or her classroom, the staff, the children, the community needs, and their experiences. Regular assessments are crucial because they point to exactly what needs to be improved or supported. A quality educator is also never finished learning about his or her work. Every day we learn through experience, but it is also our responsibility to stay current on issues relating to early childhood education and development. Similar to the quality experiences provided to the children, our professional development should be interactive with relevant content. Adult learning opportunities provide informative and engaging experiences for fellow colleagues and educators in the early childhood field.
