Personal Statement

I teach Ethnic Studies and Political Science in order to empower people.  I believe that higher education is an activity where the student bears the majority of the responisbilty for his or her own success. It is the task of each student to take the activities done in and out of class and apply them to their own lives and knowledge bases. The outcome of a lesson or a course is a fucntion of each indivdual student's efforts.  I can tell you what you will do in class. I can tell you what I learned by doing it. Each student may well learn something different than that.
