Personal Statement

His work draws on several decades as a newspaper reporter. He started writing as a boy, when he played with a vintage typewriter at home. He loved creating something and committing it to paper, and never stopped. After university graduation he worked at a Congressional office and four daily newspapers, including the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. One year at the P-I, he was on a team of reporters and editors who were finalists for a Pulitzer Prize. At the newspapers his work was critiqued every day by editors who worked to make his stories better before they appeared in print. To him, his job here is a lot like that. It is a way to share what he knows.
